About Us Main Page

Our Mission

Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. We give our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through free, culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.

Community Servings has been awarded a coveted four-star rating for our efficient and effective business model for providing nutrition services to the critically ill by Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator.

Our Board

Mark H. Lippolt
Chair
Mark, who served as Treasurer before assuming the role of Board Chair in 2007, bought his first pie in 1996. He is drawn to Community Servings because the organization does collectively what individuals and families did two generations ago - bring a casserole to a sick neighbor and their family.

Our Staff

Carolyn Smyth
Client Services Coordinator
A delivery van driver for five years, Carolyn observed first-hand what it means to be sick and home-bound with a critical illness like HIV/AIDS or cancer. Carolyn's skills and personality made her a natural fit for the Client Services Coordinator position that opened up in 2004. Since then, she has stayed in constant contact with our clients -- working out delivery issues, registering new clients, and making sure everyone is well-fed. Prior to joining Community Servings, Carolyn was a medical transcriber and residential counselor.

Our Supporters

Ron Ansin
One of Massachusetts' most inspired philanthropists, Ron has supported every fundraiser we've ever hosted and gave the lead gifts to both our capital campaigns. But it is his wise counsel and friendship we treasure most.
